Odisha rains: Heavy rainfall pounds southern part of state, IMD issues red alert for many districts

The districts of Nabarangpur, Koraput, Kalahandi, Malkangiri, Ganjam, Gajapati and Kandhamal bore the brunt of heavy to very heavy rain under the influence of a low pressure and an active monsoon trough, which is passing over southern Odisha.
